Just needed to say, Stevie was the only player who actually stopped and signed things for the fans before heading into the hotel. The other England lads and Fabio just darted into the hotel without so much of a quick wave to the fans who had been waiting for them - but Stevie stayed. I’m totally not dissing the other players, but it was a nice touch from the captain. He signed each and every one of the things we gave him, and dutifully posed for photographs. He was definitely jet-lagged, tired, and probably wanted nothing more than to just crash in bed, but he actually took the time to meet us and… thank us for being there? It was the best possible way to top off the best day of my life. Captain Fantastic.
